To mark our 60th founding anniversary, we will present, through a series of curatorial projects, the artistic holdings built up over these decades; it will be a conceptual, historical, and visual journey through the milestones that make up contemporaneity, with an interdisciplinary vision focused on generating social meaning.
Macula and Touching the Fiber
Printmaking has played an important role in the development of art since its beginnings, when the earliest humans made incisions in various materials to create motifs and images. In China, with the invention of paper, woodblock printing also developed, and in other parts of the world different types of image transfer emerged. In our own territory, Indigenous communities used stamps and ceramic rollers to print designs on their textiles.
Each of us is a question intrinsically linked to our existence and to the time we have been given to live; from this perspective of finite beings, we project ourselves toward the future, remember the past, and live in the present.
The magic of photography began to astonish the world less than two centuries ago, prompting art to change and new forms of expression to emerge. The birth of photography is owed to something purely scientific: finding a way for light to capture an image. The earliest creations of Niépce and Daguerre, in the early 19th century, were complex machines that required long exposure times. This evolved both technically and aesthetically throughout the 20th century. In contemporary times, photography revolves around experimenting with representation and the visual treatment of the image as a communicative, documentary, conceptual phenomenon and a source of aesthetic enjoyment. Everything is conceived and created with a purpose in mind: to think, to reflect, to act, and to record. A balance is sought so that the image can be subjected to judgment and gain value in the eye of each viewer.

The MAC presented i adhere, i persist, i resist, a show that revealed María Eugenia Trujillo's facet as a hand embroiderer and weaver. Curator Jimena Peña Bennett described the exhibition as «an intimate invitation to move through spaces where offering and mourning coexist».
As part of the celebration of El Minuto de Dios's 60th anniversary, and coinciding with World Art Day and ARTBO weekend, the MAC opened Kalopsia, Beauty against Oblivion, featuring work by Pedro Ruiz, Nadín Ospina, and Óscar González Guache.
The MAC opened Imagined Territories, an exhibition that proposes memory as an extension of landscape. Curated by Caridad Botella, the show transforms mountains, rivers, and horizons into narratives that speak of memory, territory, and identity.
Conceived as a grand total installation where painting, sculpture, and space merge, Aníbal Vallejo's proposal invites viewers to look beyond the limits of the canvas and move through landscapes where imagination converses with memory and contemplation.

60 years shaping new languages of art
For six decades, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Minuto de Dios – MAC has believed in the transformative power of art and in the talent of new generations.
Proyecto Tesis was born from that conviction: opening the museum's doors to young artists and giving them the opportunity to present their graduation projects to the public, taking a first step toward their professional future.
As part of the MAC's 60th anniversary, this edition received 35 submissions from different regions of the country. After a rigorous selection process, the Curatorial Committee chose 15 projects that are now part of this show. Each one represents a particular outlook on the present, an exploration of new languages, and a commitment to the future of art in Colombia.
We thank the participating students, the universities and academies that support their education, and the professors who make these processes possible. Their talent and commitment give meaning to this program.
Proyecto Tesis: 60 years believing in the art yet to come.

"To be able to capture the customs, the ideas and the appearance of my era, according to my own judgment; to be not only a painter, but also a man; in a word, to make living art – that is my goal“
The exhibition, open to the public from May 6 to 17 in la Sala de Proyectos Bicentenario, is an artistic proposal based on the definitions of the terms retina and rutina (routine), aiming to reflect on the city through the eyes of the visitor, the foreigner, or the other.
The multiple possibilities offered by drawing have given it an important presence in contemporary art; indeed, it is the immediacy of drawing, the force of the line, that allows something to happen on the surface – it is the line that connects two worlds, two seemingly dissimilar natures, that brings about the encounter between man and animal.
