21ST EDITION OF PROYECTO TESIS
A Time to Be
Each of us is a question intrinsically linked to our existence and to the time we have been given to live; from this perspective of finite beings, we project ourselves toward the future, remember the past, and live in the present.
We could almost say that this has been the path of Proyecto TESIS over the last twenty-one years, and that it will continue along this course in the years to come.
If this is the outlook, it is worth noting three elements to bear in mind: first, projection — that is, future possibilities, the anticipation of events, and the option of multiple choices for facing them; new professionals are eager for this projection, for the possibilities before their eyes, among which Proyecto TESIS has been a promising option.
However, facing this projection stands facticity, the weight of the past, the facts and circumstances that condition one's present and future; these are aggravating factors that cannot be shed but can be steered.
Lastly we have existence, the present context that makes us live and act in the world as social subjects, that world which gives context and meaning to our practice, to our poiesis.
We can and must be authentic, confronting our finitude by leaving a mark, an imprint of our existence, that genuine and personal seal that no one else can leave.
There is also the possibility of settling for expectations and social conventions, avoiding confrontation, burying one's head in the sand; but this will not change our reality or its consequences for our existence.
It is time to be, to confront the reality of existence, to project ourselves toward possibilities with determined spirit, to move ahead of the inexorable curve of history.
The theses presented here are a preview of that promising future, full of personal and social stories that will keep unfolding in the intricate weave of time.
