As part of the Bienal Internacional de Arte y Ciudad BOG25, the MAC presented Transformations of a City to Be Inhabited, one of the five independent curatorial projects selected through an open call for this edition of the biennial, under the general curatorship of Elkin Rubiano.
The exhibition brought together the work of 51 artists around the traces left by time and coexistence in Bogotá, presented as a living organism in which communities adapt and reinvent themselves every day. The works addressed local migration, public space, the popular economy, the body in the territory, and the city's shared memory.
Alongside this show, the BOG25 Biennial presented four other independent curatorial projects in different cultural spaces across the city: OVNI – Unidentified Visible Objects (Ana María Cifuentes) at the Alianza Francesa, Thresholds of Healing (Christian Snyder) at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, The City of Specters (Julián Serna) at the Colombo Americano, and Rate my setup (Sebastián Mira) at CEFE Chapinero. Together, the five exhibitions brought together 250 contemporary artists from 12 countries around the theme of urban transformation.
