Sign-Nature is an exhibition by graffiti writer Joems, who used some of the walls of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá to write his signatures and draw icons of contemporary culture charged with humor and cynicism. This, of course, with the aim of sparking dialogue and confrontation about what is "ugly" or "pretty," about what drives us as a society, and about what should or should not be included within the museum scene.

His interventions do not aim to beautify or aestheticize his graffiti, but rather to leave a mark of Street Art within the institutionalized setting of museums. His participation in this show was motivated by what, for him, the museum space means in this context—one to which he attributes the power to raise awareness of, legitimize and demystify graffiti as a form of expression.
Joems's intervention is honest and free of any artistic pretension. It is a show that illustrates one of the places that unites us, that is inhabited by us and that we inhabit, often indifferently. It allows us to become aware of how we look at, and what to do with, those who are so often censored.
The show, which opens on January 31 at 2:00 pm, will be open to the public until March 14.
