Screen: an evocation of light, of reflections, of images.

Screen, a word that refers at once to what it conceals and what it reveals.

"Roles y Expresiones" junto a  "Ejército Ruso" represent a series of paintings based on photographs of life; they are images that reveal urban landscapes and other stories referring to what is lived day to day in our human culture: work, childhood, "progress," the changes in physical space and, consequently, in time.

The artist Alejandro Mina absorbs this entire evocation of light that emanates from everyday life and renders it with an exceptional degree of sensitivity in his paintings. Colors that manifest in their forms in a realistic way, drawing in and challenging the sensitive viewer who faces his paintings.

His pictorial work goes beyond the screen we conceive of as reality; it leaps into other atmospheres of the representative image, transforms space and time and renders them in light, in life; such is his high degree of plastic perception that he shows us the prosaic nature of life in a contemplatively beautiful way.

The show will be open to the public in the Sala de Proyectos Bicentenario from October 4 to 26, 2014.
