Invisible Circles

Reclaiming family traditions becomes a painstaking task when Catholic symbolism is adopted in contemporary times. Paulo Álvarez moves through the "invisible circles" of his own genealogy, starting from elements that ground the shared past and converge in the particular present.

Reclaiming family traditions becomes a painstaking task when Catholic symbolism is adopted in contemporary times. Paulo Álvarez moves through the "invisible circles" of his own genealogy, starting from elements that ground the shared past and converge in the particular present.

In this way, the archetypes that Álvarez embraces in his work become inversely proportional and take on new meanings through the adaptation of these images, invoking, in object form, certain gender dissidences.

The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá invites you to the opening of the exhibition Invisible Circles, curated by Manu Mojito, in the Sala de Proyectos Bicentenario, Friday, July 4, 6:00 pm. Free admission.
