Throughout the history of representation in the West, the expansion or reduction of the concept of the obscene (that which is considered improper to be seen), as well as the different strategies used to divert or guide the gaze, have influenced the way we see and understand the body.
"H_JAS DE P_RRA" is based on an elemental procedure: altering the content and essence of pornographic magazines through manual cutting and collage. This procedure seeks to point out the changes that have occurred in representations of the body, from the 15th century to the present day, showing that our gaze has shifted in parallel with changes in our conceptions of the body and sexuality.
The result is a statement on the mutations of the gaze and the way in which, throughout history, the observer has seen and stopped seeing.
The exhibition, open to the public from August 10 to 31, will be complemented by workshops and activities. Free admission during the opening on August 10, starting at 2:00 pm
