From October 1 to 4, Bogotá will be the epicentre of art, as 84 galleries from 33 cities around the world gather for ARTBO 2015, an event to be held at Corferias.

In its eleventh edition, ARTBO offers an important cultural and academic programme aimed at captivating new audiences, while also positioning itself as a platform for emerging artists. This year it will feature the following sections:

Main Section 2015: this space will host 84 national and international galleries with a wide range of artistic proposals.

Projects 2015: showcases practices whose research is grounded in formal, conceptual, and historiographic examples that contrast or relate the idea of figure and ground as a complex exchange between the general and the specific, the whole and the fragment, or between grand narratives and minor ones.

Artecámara 2015: a space known for showcasing new proposals by young Colombian artists and collectives who do not yet have commercial representation.

Sitio 2015: a new setting created to foster ambitious, experimental proposals for and within ARTBO, allowing for greater interaction and engagement with the attending public and affecting or intervening in different spaces of the fair.

Referentes 2015: this section explores the works of important art masters who, owing to their historical significance, have become definitive touchstones for the artists who followed them and starting points for what is defined today as contemporary art. This section seeks to offer attendees a historical context that allows for a broader view of the artworks and artists they will see in ARTBO's other sections.

Libro de Artista 2015: this section presents a selection of works by artists who have incorporated publishing and the book format into their artistic practices, together with the publishing houses they work with. This section also creates a new space for both general and specialised audiences to engage with this important artistic practice.

Foro 2015: the central theme of the Forum will be the interaction between the three components that consolidate a strong art scene: art production (the artists), the mediation of the work for the public (museums, independent spaces, specialised magazines, curators, criticism, cultural journalism), and the market (galleries, collectors, fairs, auctions).

For its part the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá will be present at Stand A-36 with a showcase of videos by artists from the collection and of activities carried out, with particular emphasis on the inclusion of videos in Colombian sign language. A preview of what will be seen in 2016 as part of our 50th anniversary.
