ORFANATO: Organization of Fanzine-Making Artists Born of Mistreatment.

Graffiti, Street Art, fanzines, stickers, posters, counterculture, art in the streets — these are the search tags visitors will find in this exhibition by the ORFANATO collective, a studio dedicated to graffiti and alternative communication for public spaces. The show invites visitors on a tour through some of the projects that the collective, over its 9 years of existence, has produced in various spaces around the city, understanding the city as a dynamic stage for the exchange of experiences and images that express unease, empathy, approval, and disapproval through actions that put forward public space as the most fitting setting for this encounter.

The exhibition is divided into 3 stages distributed across each of the museum's floors as follows:

On the first floor, Leela and Vogel paint the most recent output of their graffiti work. Leela presents her series of superpowered girls, women who have represented change in their contexts through simple but revolutionary actions; Vogel exhibits her series Mi Gente (My People), an exploration of racial mixing through faces, pigmented skins, anonymous countenances that take shape in the color of spray paint.

On the second floor, several curatorial and installation projects produced by the studio: Outsiders, one of the first graffiti shows in Colombian galleries; Visceral Fest, a project that invited video submissions of street art actions (not necessarily graffiti), which were shown at an event bringing together Break Dance, Hip Hop, Skate, and Graffiti; Coca Regulada Paz Garantizada (Regulated Cocaine, Guaranteed Peace), an initiative by the ATS corporation for the regulation of cocaine in Colombia in search of a solid path toward peace, in which ORFANATO takes part in the street communication campaign. Alongside these projects, the various artists who have passed through the studio come to display their personal work and leave their mark on this show.

The third floor will host the project DESCONOCIDO (UNKNOWN), which seeks to dignify the networks of affection woven around the absent person — the one who has been taken, whose whereabouts are unknown. Characters with life stories common to all of us, who have suffered as victims of the crime of forced disappearance in Colombia.

The show will open on April 27 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will be open to the public until June 1, 2017.
