Soacha Art Salon - Traveling-4

The Soacha Art Salon is a project created by the Centro Colombo Americano, in partnership with the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá, with the aim of strengthening the art scene, inside and outside the Municipality, through the dissemination and promotion of the artists' work.

This project travels to our Colombo Norte branch to showcase the talent and art scene of Soacha and invite us to rethink the Municipality through the interpretations that artists make of it, while we find differences, similarities, and intersections with Bogotá.

Germán F. Bermúdez Castellano; Julián Y. Ruiz Rojas; Jairo D. Pachón Matute; Jorge A. Rodríguez Sierra, Juan D. Montoya Herrera; Michelle Rodríguez Díaz; Andrés León Tocua; Apócrifo (Josep Moreno); Diego F. Cuellar Muñoz; Julián C. Pirabán Acero; Mario Moreno Rojas; Miguel A. Vallejo Rodríguez, Omar D. Bernal Gacharná, Hugo Acosta Ovalle, Black Surco (Jhon Mahecha Nieto), and Andrea Rodríguez Orjuela were the artists selected for the Soacha Art Salon 2016. Their works explore the history of the Municipality, the identities of its communities, cultural appropriation, the natural landscape, the body, and contemporary political and social situations.

We invite you to get to know some of Soacha's most representative artists and to reflect on what motivated them to create their works and what these works evoke in you as viewers.

The show will be open to the public until April 3, 2017 at the north branch of the Centro Colombo Americano (Calle 100 No. 15-36)
