Human diversity is marked by physical or biological differences and by social or cultural systems. Colombia is a country with great natural, social, cultural, economic, geographic, and climatic diversity, where there is an extensive plurality that needs to be recognized and valued.

In Search of the Classical is a series of sculptures that seeks, through the appropriation of nude bodies and their production under classical parameters, to elevate and reassess the different models of beauty and harmony present in Colombian diversity. This series aims to appreciate and recognize physical difference as an essential element common to our species, while also proposing nudity as the ultimate expression of humanity and vulnerability.

While Colombia is understood as multicultural and diverse, portraying this diversity in nudity means reflecting on equality; the absence of clothing strips the person of social distinctions and reveals only morphological differences that reduce man to his fullest expression.

This series seeks to identify individuals capable of exalting, through their expression and physiognomy, a racial and cultural origin. To this end, research is being carried out that accounts for the different social groups, their particularities, and their values, in order to capture them  in each of the sculptures; thus,  in the same way as in Greek classicism, the show presents the person of today as a measure of the universe and their importance as a social and natural ideal. This series plans to reproduce models of the country's main ethnic, regional, and cultural groups, which include three ethnic groups, five major regions, and thirty-two departments.

The project has worked with volunteer models who imprint the work with a particular emotion and a desire for reflection on equality despite the diversity discussed above, and it aims to extend the series in order to represent, through nudity, a Colombia that is so multicultural.

The show will open on January 19 from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm and will be open to the public until February 25, 2016.
