As part of its 50th anniversary, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá (MAC) comes to Soacha with the exhibition Nomadic Museum.
The MAC, thanks to the support of the General Rectory of UNIMINUTO and the cultural work carried out with artists, communities, the art circuit, and academic and cultural institutions, will have a presence at the UNIMINUTO campuses of Bello, Buga, Ibagué, and Soacha with the project A Museum for Everyone. Through traveling exhibitions, talks, and workshops, it will highlight different concepts, techniques, and perspectives of contemporary art, with the aim of creating dialogues that showcase and underscore the importance of the artistic heritage it safeguards, as well as its artistic, educational, and communication processes over half a century of cultural activity.
For Soacha, Nomadic Museum, will be presented, a show composed of graphic reproductions of works from the collection, accompanied by biographical notes on their artists. The works highlight the processes of transition between modern and contemporary art, while also showing the intrinsic relationship between art and the various historical, social, political, and artistic events of the last five decades, through different trends in abstract and figurative art, sculpture, photography, and ceramics.
The exhibition opens on October 5, 2016 at 6pm at UNIMINUTO Centro Regional Soacha (transversal 5 No. 5G-95) and will be open to the public until November 7, Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
