As part of its 50th anniversary, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá (MAC) comes to Buga with the exhibition The Power of the Image.

The MAC, thanks to the support of the General Rectory of UNIMINUTO and the cultural work carried out with artists, communities, the art circuit, and academic and cultural institutions, will have a presence at the UNIMINUTO campuses of Bello, Buga, Ibagué, and Soacha with the project A Museum for Everyone. Through traveling exhibitions with original works from its collection, talks, and workshops, the project will highlight different concepts, techniques, and perspectives of contemporary art, with the aim of creating dialogues that showcase and underscore the importance of the artistic heritage it safeguards, as well as its artistic, educational, and communication processes over half a century of cultural activity.

For Buga, The Power of the Image, will be presented, an exhibition nourished by the interaction between technique, concept, execution, and context, which allows audiences to approach it on different levels. The show includes works in woodcut, lithography, etching, screen printing, and linocut, from the 1970s to 2010.

This exhibition is an incentive for our students, teachers, and visitors to venture into generating their own visual languages and to use the power of the image to bring about change in their social, political, and cultural environment.

The exhibition opens on October 1 at 11:00 am in the main auditorium of UNIMINUTO Centro Regional Buga (calle 21 sur con carrera 12, southwest side) and will be open to the public Monday to Friday 8am to 12m and 2pm to 6pm, Saturdays 8am to 4pm, until November 1.
