You are entering a space that has been intervened by the artist Gustavo Vejarano as a temple and, therefore, it calls for your openness, sensitivity, and awareness to make your presence a different experience, one in which your sensations, thoughts, and movements unfold from within your inner silence. You will find a symbolic structure representing the three bodies of the human being: the physical, which comprises the senses; the subtle, which encompasses feeling; and the causal, which holds thought.
This exhibition is made up of paintings, sculptures, drawings, videos, and installations that reflect Vejarano's disciplined, ongoing research into temples and the physical, energetic, and spiritual planes that compose them. Understanding the complexity of the geometric structures that make up the unique space of the temple, charged with energies that stimulate meditation, foster miracles, and give hope and peace to human beings, has been the artist's quest.
The concern with plastic elements - forms and colors in movement, change, transformation, energy, concentration, feminine power, masculine power, darkness, light, symmetry, and harmony - accompanies Vejarano on an inner pilgrimage reflecting introspective journeys, manifested in his daily life, in his art as a way of life and as an instrument for making the unconscious conscious, the invisible visible.
Gustavo Vejarano's work obeys the demands of temples, their secret structure. Every color, dot, line, and shape is a geometric subdivision of the total space, a sacred geometry that generates a field of energetic force influencing the three bodies: physical, subtle, and causal.
While it could be said that the works before us show Vejarano's personal quest to build his inner temple and thus come to know himself, heal, and transform, they can also become portals toward our own individual awakening as magical, luminous beings.
